Essential clothing — Portugal, Italy, Scotland

Quiet by design.

Dressing well is an act of subtraction, not accumulation.

Full lookbook

Fictional brand. Portfolio piece. Six garments

Three commitments

01

Essentiality

A catalogue of six. It changes when a fabric gets better, not when a season turns. Nothing here was designed to be replaced next year.

02

Material

Fibre, weight, mill, town. Every garment is described as a technical fact: 220 g/m², 19.5 micron, Biella. Adjectives are what you reach for when you have no numbers.

03

Radical honesty

Every price is split into four parts — material, manufacture, transport, margin — and printed on the product page. Our margin runs around 40%. You can decide whether that is fair.

One material

19.5 micron, knitted in Hawick

Merino is sold by the width of its fibre. Below twenty micron it stops registering as wool against the skin, which is the entire reason the grade costs what it does.

Ours is knitted in the Scottish Borders on twelve-gauge frames, fully fashioned: each panel is knitted to its final shape rather than cut out of a sheet. It wastes less yarn and it leaves no cut edge to pull.
